#Nature is the ultimate creative expression from which we as artists and craftspeople draw our inspiration. I unloaded the kiln yesterday and this is my favorite pot out of the batch, inspired by my favorite plant, and decorated with the rich earth tones of #WildClay. The glossy brown of the neck rings comes from a single clayânot a formulated glazeâcollected from beneath an electric pole, roadside on some farmland in Northern #Louisiana. I noticed it while driving by. More in the #AltText.

It feels like a dream, 10 years ago, chatting with people from many projects, excited about the world we were building towards.
There was a "free software" community then, full of folks who cared deeply about human rights and freedom and who saw free and open software systems as an important part of that work.
That community is gone. Fractured by problems discussed then that, in hindsight, I now understand to be deeply rooted in the tenets and infrastructure of the movement.
